Mursala waterfall has a height of about 35 m from the hills that form steep cliffs. Because the location of the waterfall is located in the Mursala directly opposite the Indian Ocean then this waterfall flows directly into the sea . Waterfall as there are only a few in the world and in Indonesia we have 2 waterfalls like that , another one named Niagara Kahatola located in West Halmahera , North Maluku .
The flow of Niagara Mursala is derived from the flow shortest river in the world with a width of about 400 m , length 700 m and flows through granite rocks that are in the cliffs of the island and slid gushing down with a roar into the area of the sea , creating stunning views . Cliff – a cliff consists of granite rocks maroon.
Discharge water here is never dry even when the dry season. In fact, the flow of water here as very heavy so as to produce the sound of water is so strong. This waterfall empties into the Indian Ocean. While you’re here, you are walking in front of the Indian Ocean so blue sea panorama will spoil you.
Another uniqueness owned Mursala waterfall is a waterfall that is derived from the world’s shortest river flow . Besides the natural beauty of Indonesia appealed to the Hollywood movie makers to use it as a location for filming , one of the fil m King Kong (2005 ) . This film takes place in Mursala , Central Tapanuli , North Sumatra province , who described the island as a horrible place full of ancient animals .
